Vegan cake slices from Bells & Whistles

A new vegan cake in three flavours – Berry & Cashew, Nut Truffle and Ginger & Apricot – has been launched by Bells & Whistles.

Each cake features a baked base, flooded with chocolate ganache then topped with dark chocolate or a vegan white chocolate and sprinkled with either tangy berries, roasted hazelnuts or chopped pistachio.

Gluten, wheat and milk-free, Bells & Whistles’ vegan cake slices are all under 120 calories per slice.

Bells & Whistles Berry & Cashew Cake: A coconut and chocolate baked base, with a cranberry and roasted cashew chocolate ganache, topped with vegan white chocolate and finished with a berry crumb of dried raspberries and cranberries.

Bells & Whistles Nut Truffle: A coconut and almond baked base, with a roasted hazelnut, cashew and pecan ganache, topped with a smooth vegan white chocolate and finished with toasted hazelnuts.

Bells & Whistles Ginger & Apricot: A coconut base with a smooth ginger and apricot chocolate ganache, covered in dark chocolate and finished with chopped pistachio.

Josh Boydell Smith from Bells & Whistles said: “We’re delighted to offer vegans, vegetarians and anybody else who loves indulgent treats, slices of deliciousness that can be enjoyed anywhere without those pangs of guilt. The slices maybe small, but they deliver a whole lot more as we only use the very best ingredients that make each layer explode with amazing and distinctive textures and flavours.”

Available in Sainsbury’s superstores’ ‘free from’ aisles throughout the UK and online at www.sainsburys.co.uk for around £2.75 for a four pack from Thursday 9 June.
